Excited to See Rascal Flatts Back On Tour? Here’s Why You Should Thank the Eagles

Rascal Flatts recently announced their 25th-anniversary reunion tour, and fans are thrilled to see the trio back in action. The Life is a Highway Tour is slated to kick off in 2025, and is their first tour since their run of shows in 2020 were canceled. Now, Rascal Flatts have revealed that the decision to come out of hiatus was inspired by classic bands like the Eagles.

“I think the Eagles have done a really good job of going through different seasons and coming together for the good of the fans and the good of the music,” said Jay DeMarcus, speaking with Taste of Country recently.

The Eagles are a particular example because they’ve essentially been on multiple farewell and anniversary tours through the years, with Vince Gill stepping up in 2017 to take over vocals from the late Glenn Frey. Since then, they’ve been on tour and are in the middle of a residency at the Las Vegas Sphere.

“That’s been really neat to see them navigate those tricky waters. They do it as well as anybody,” said DeMarcus, noting that this example helped motivate Rascal Flatts to make a return. Additionally, the tour should be sweet for both fans and Rascal Flatts themselves—allegedly, the trio hadn’t seen each other in person for five years before announcing the reunion.

Rascal Flatts Announce 25th-Anniversary Life is a Highway Tour

Rascal Flatts’ Life is a Highway Tour is scheduled to kick off on February 13, 2025, in Eastville, Indiana. They will travel across the U.S. playing shows in cities like Charleston, West Virginia; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Green Bay, Wisconsin, among many others.

Along for support are Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane, who commented on the Instagram announcement that he was excited to get on the road with the trio. Tickets are currently on sale today, October 4.

Fans also shared their excitement that Rascal Flatts are returning to touring after a years-long hiatus, but some also expressed disappointment that the band won’t be coming to their city. For example, there are no California dates, and one fan noted that Nashville is missing. However, many fans hoped that this is only the first leg of the tour so far.
