Even This One Direction Star Can’t Get His Hands on Oasis Reunion Tickets

It seems not even celebrities are free from the trials and tribulations of purchasing tickets. Louis Tomlinson, formerly of One Direction, has shared his disappointment at not being able to secure tickets to Oasis‘ U.K. and Ireland reunion tour next year.

Speaking with Sky Sports at the Italian Grand Prix on September 1, Tomlinson expressed that he tried to get tickets, but was unsuccessful. “I didn’t [get Oasis tickets],” he said. “I was in the queue, but I never got a number, I did try, I did try.”

According to reports, some Oasis fans were kicked out of the online ticket queues due to glitches. Some were met with rising ticket prices as they stood in the virtual lines. Overall, fans were outraged.

When Tomlinson was asked if he would hold out for free tickets possibly gifted from the Gallagher brothers, he shared that he’s holding onto hope. “I have my fingers crossed,” he said. In his solo work, Tomlinson has revealed in the past that Oasis is a huge influence. For him to be able to catch the reunion tour would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, as it would be for many fans who didn’t come of age in the mid-90s.

Oasis Teases U.S. Reunion Tour Dates as Streams Skyrocket

This period of time could be marked as one of the biggest in music history, a moment we never thought we’d see in our lifetime. The Gallagher brothers put aside their quarrels and are back together. As such, fans old and new have been reignited by the reconciliation, flocking to digital streaming platforms to listen to their favorite Oasis tunes.

The band’s streaming numbers have skyrocketed 690% on Spotify as fans listen with renewed interest. Because of the overwhelming demand for tickets, the band has had to add three additional tour dates. While Oasis has only planned a U.K. and Ireland tour so far, there are rumors floating around of future U.S. tour dates as well.

Amazon Music put up a digital billboard in Time Square that reads “If we need to put up a billboard to get these guys to come to the States, here it is,” alongside a promo photo of Liam and Noel Gallagher. Meanwhile, Oasis’ official Instagram took a photo and added a side-eye emoji. This can often represent contemplation, mischief, or simply “I acknowledge this but I’m being cheeky about it.”

Will Oasis take their reunion tour across the pond? Fans can only hope. Additionally, language used on the official website made it seem like the U.K. is not the only leg of the tour. The U.K. and Ireland tour is referred to as the “domestic leg,” and we’re giving side-eye emoji.
