Bob Dylan has begun selling his own brand of harmonicas. It’s true. Moving on from bombshell lingerie models, Dylan has just struck a new branding deal with Hohner harmonicas to begin offering the “Bob Dylan Signature Series.” The new harmonica is machine stamped with Dylan’s hand written signature and details a few alterations the man himself thought important to the new line. Scott Emmerman, director of Hohner Marketing and Sales said that Dylan even lended a hand to the design of the pieces, “He had some clear ideas on how he wanted the products to look. He designed the logo, which resembles a crown.” The mouth harps are set to go on sale in October and would pay Dylan a royalty rate based on the amount sold. Emmerman said he expects to move 10,000 units in the first year. So what other artists have graced the Hohner factory based in Richmond Virginia? Steven Tyler released his own hand-signed series last year and Hohner implied collaboration with Stevie Wonder.
