When Lainey Wilson was just a kid, she traveled to the Grand Ole Opry to watch a performance. During her time at the Opry, she found her calling, admitting she wanted to be on stage one day. And although her road to stardom wasn’t always clear or bright, the country star never faltered, eventually gaining the spotlight. Appearing to take over country music, Wilson released four studio albums, with her next album, Whirlwind, hitting shelves in August. But while dominating country music and sharing a relationship with former NFL quarterback Duck Hodges, it seems another man stole her heart.

During a recent episode of Today With Hoda & Jenna, Jenna Bush Hager shared a heartfelt story about how her four-year-old son, Henry “Hal” Harold, fell in love with Wilson. Getting a chance to meet Wilson when she traveled to be on the show, Hager recalled, “Afterward, Hal Hager whispered to Mila, ‘She asked me to be her boyfriend. Lainey asked me if I would be her boyfriend.’” She continued, “Mila was like, ‘Huh? That singer?’ [He said] ‘Yeah, she asked me. And now I’m her boyfriend.’”

Lainey Wilson Gets Her Heart Broken
As fans of Wilson know, the country star continues her relationship with Hodges. Although dating for several years, the couple didn’t make it official until they walked the red carpet at the 2023 CMA Awards. And while Hodges might have some competition when it comes to Wilson’s heart, it appears Harold moved on.
Making the announcement, Hager revealed to fans and Wilson, “I heard him say the other day, ‘Well, I called and broke up with her. ‘So, Lainey, you have an admirer named Hal Hager who has created a whole story about how y’all once dated. And then he called and dumped you, which we know is false.”
While not afraid to share her thoughts on music, Wilson continuously stayed quiet about her personal life when it came to Hodges. Although their relationship grabbed the spotlight at the 2023 CMA Awards, the singer stayed silent when speaking about her relationship. As for Hodges, he knows the power of stardom as he played for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the L.A. Rams.
