60s folk-rock legend Donovan recently spoke about his desire to find some new duet partners. One of the artists he has his eye on is British pop singer Lily Allen.
When asked if the two might collaborate, the Sunshine Superman told BANG Showbiz: “I’m hoping to do so on my tour – there will be an open invitation to young songwriters in the capitals of the world I’m playing in to join me onstage so I can highlight what they’re doing.”
He also added: “I collaborate mostly with girls because of the goddess aspect. The girls work better with me than the boys. There are many throughout the world which I am going to discover I am sure.”
Donovan was recently honored at the BMI London Awards on October 6 as a BMI Icon for his songwriting talents. In 2010/2011, he will embark on what may be his last major tour. Check out his latest single “The Banks O’Doon,” a 250 year old poem by Scottish poet Robert Burn, with a new melody by the artist, on Itunes.
