The 27-year-old made the announcement this week, just about a month after he put out the album’s wholesome lead single “Dancing in the Courthouse.” Along with confirming Sunburn’s release date, Fike is set to drop the project’s second promotional single “Ant Pile” at midnight ET on May 26, which will also serve as the second song on the track list.
While sharing this information with his fans on Instagram, Fike uploaded a handful of snippets of songs from the album to his page. Although the titles of these song previews are not yet known, Fike did post a photo that shows a portion of the album’s track list, including song names like “Frisky” and “4×4” along with “Ant Pile.”
In the time between What Could Possibly Go Wrong and Sunburn, Fike was able to work with pop icons like Justin Bieber for “Die for You” (2021) and Paul McCartney for “The Kiss Of Venus” (2021). Aside from musical feats like these, the Florida native also landed a role HBO hit series Euphoria alongside Zendaya. This led to him recording “Elliot’s Song” for the show’s soundtrack, which features vocals from his aforementioned co-star. “Elliot’s Song” ended up reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.
Additionally, Fike recently made a cameo in Bad Bunny’s recent music video “Where She Goes,” along with being announced on the star-studded Barbie soundtrack on Thursday (May 25).
When his debut album first came out in the Summer of 2020, it only reached No. 41 on the Billboard 200 chart. But, now with more marquee collaborations and years of experience under his belt, Sunburn could be a true breakout moment for Dominic Fike.
