If you didn’t know it before or couldn’t guess it based on her home state, then Dolly Parton wants you to know that she’s a Tennessee Volunteers fan. The country legend will be repping orange for the upcoming Tennessee game against Georgia.

Dolly Heads to Neyland Stadium

The Volunteers will look to stave off a loss at home and provide an upset against No. 1 ranked Georgia on Saturday. With three losses for the season, the 21-ranked Tennessee will need all the support it can get, but maybe having the Queen of Nashville lending support will give the players an extra fire.

Parton herself couldn’t contain her excitement, taking to her social media to share the news with fans. She said, “I am so excited to join 101,000 of my friends in the best place for college football, Neyland Stadium! I’ll see you there!”

Dolly Parton Partners With Tennessee

Even as she rose to stardom, Parton has always kept her Tennessee roots close to her heart. One only has to look to Pigeon Forge and the Dollywood Empire that Parton has built.

More recently, Parton teamed with the Tennessee Volunteers for her upcoming album Rockstar, which coincidentally launches on Friday, November 17 before the game. Parton will release a Tennessee Volunteers special edition of the album, featuring “Rocky Top.”

Over the years, the song has become an unofficial fight song for fans of the football team. Although Parton didn’t create the song—that honor belongs to Felice and Boudleaux Bryant—she has performed it several times over the years.

In a press release to American Songwriter, Parton said, “I’ve performed ‘Rocky Top’ so many times live in my concerts through the years, and I know how much that song means to Vols fans. I am thrilled to have the chance to include my version of the song on a special edition of my new Rockstar album as part of this partnership.”

Although the album’s release may have one thinking that Parton will perform at the game, fans probably shouldn’t hold out for a halftime performance. From the sound of Parton’s messages, it seems like she will be repping the game as a fan. Although, she will probably be singing “Rocky Top” in the stands.
