Music has the powerful ability to heal and Musicians On Call (MOC), a nonprofit organization, brings it a step further with its programs.

In recognition of National Hospital Week (May 7-13), MOC showed appreciation to caregivers and hospital workers during its Concert for Caregivers. The exclusive show featured Dierks Bentley, Charles Esten and Jon Nite. Bentley, who recently notched his 22 No. 1 on the Billboard country charts, performed “Living,” “I Hold On” and a handful of his other hits.

Esten and Nite also entertained the crowd with performances and stories from some of their songs. Nite performed “We Were Us,” which he co-wrote for Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert. Esten shared “A Little Right Now” from his own project.

“It’s part of our mission at Musicians On Call to bring joy and relief through live music to the hardworking hospital workers across the country during their long shifts,” said Musicians On Call President & CEO Pete Griffin in a release. “During National Hospital Week, it’s important we take a moment to express our deep gratitude for all that they do to care for their communities.”

This year’s concert was held at Analog at the Hutton Hotel in downtown Nashville on April 27. Hospital staff from throughout Middle Tennessee were invited to the writers’ round.

“Not only did I have the privilege of listening to an amazing group of musicians, but the entire experience truly made me feel special and appreciated,” said Tammy Fults, nurse manager for Ascension St. Thomas River Park.

During National Hospital Week, MOC is partnering with the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) network of hospitals to distribute the concert to AHA’s network of 5,000 member hospitals and health systems. Musicians On Call works to bring live and recorded music to patients, families and caregivers in healthcare environments. The nonprofit serves the nation’s caregivers and hospital staff year-round with live music through its bedside performances and virtual concerts.
