Folk-pop singer-songwriter Dar Williams will release her latest album, Many Great Companions on October 12 via Razor & Tie Records. The album is William’s eighth studio effort, and includes new acoustic versions of songs from her own catalogue, and features special guests Patty Larkin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and Sarah and Sean Watkins from Nickel Creek.

Many Great Companions is split into two discs, “Songs Revisited with Guitar and a Few Friends,” and “Best of Dar Williams,” respectively. Material covered runs as far back as her 1993 release, The Honesty Room, to her most recent 2008 LP, Promised Land.
