ARTIST: Wilson
SONG: Feels Like Home
BIRTHDATE: August 20, 1983
HOMETOWN: Oskaloosa, IA (my parents still live here)
CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN
AMBITIONS: To exploit my music for the purpose of expressing my deepest beliefs and thoughts to a willing listener.
TURN-OFFS: People who are always looking for “more important” people. Drawing attention to yourself too much. Bad instrument tones. Sound guys who don’t know their stuff. Misinformation. Mayonnaise, mustard, relish (ugh).
TURN-ONS: Humility. When the heart matches the actions. Coffee shops. My wife, Kassie. Quiet. Ice cream.
DREAM GIG: Mid-sized venues where people are really interested in the mood and quality of music, and the meaning behind lyrics.
FAVORITE LYRIC: “Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love.” (Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing)
CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: One of my family members (who shall remain nameless), who likes to break into old buildings just to see what’s inside (and then leaves a way for him to return in the future at his own will), who collects the weirdest freakiest objects just to have sitting around the house, who hikes by himself for weeks at a time without any worldly contact (location only disclosed the night before to another close family member).
SONG I WISH I WROTE: “Hate It Here” by Wilco and “Colorblind” by Counting Crows.
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Jesus (wow), Moses, Kassie (my wife), Martin Luther King, Jr., Albert Barnes (theologian).
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Brandi Carlile at TPAC in Nashville, TN.
I WROTE THIS SONG: Feels Like Home
