ARTIST: Todd Lewis Kramer
SONG: “Tennessee”
HOMETOWN: Woodbridge, Connecticut
CURRENT LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York
AMBITIONS: To write and play songs that people like enough for me to go on a real national or international tour.
TURN-OFFS: Closed-mindedness, Ignorance, Large Dinner Parties, Anchovies
TURN-ONS: Good dry humor, Non-judgmental people, Charisma, Peanut Butter
DREAM GIG: I think a headlining show at Madison Square Garden would do.
FAVORITE LYRIC: “I ain’t ever been to Vegas, but I gambled up my life” – Ryan Adams, “Oh My Sweet Carolina”
SONG I WISH I WROTE: “The Weight” – The Band
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Barack Obama, Derek Jeter, Jim Carrey, Whitney Houston, and my grandmother
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: I’m not much of a festival-goer, but I got to see Tom Petty at Bonnaroo in 2006. That was a pretty memorable one.
I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE…People have always come up to me and said I should move to Nashville, that my sound would work there. So I started daydreaming about it and started writing this song. Then the song evolved into a song about growing up and sort of navigating that jump to adulthood.
