Videos by American Songwriter

ARTIST: Stephen Gordon

SONG: “Thief In The Night”

BIRTHDATE: 4-11-87

BIRTHPLACE: Memphis, TN

AMBITIONS: 1. Have my kids like me as much as I like my parents. 2. Have kids.

TURN-OFFS: 1. Showin’ what you don’t got. 2. Showin’ OFF what you do. Let’s keep it the real.

TURN-ONS: Keeping it real, if “keeping it real” were not such the colloquialism.

DREAM GIG: Open for Mark Knopfler and HE MAKES AN APPEARANCE IN MY SET. I couldn’t finish the song he joins me on, but it’d be cool until then.

MOVIES I’VE SEEN MORE THAN ONCE: The Prestige, The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, The Princess Bride.

CELEBRITY CRUSH: Alicia Keys. The ball’s in her court… and I have quite a serve.

I NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT: my yellow notepad.

5 THINGS EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN: A good skillet, an inspiring pen, at least two clean(ish) yellow notepads, mode of transport besides a car, his mistakes.

THINGS I LOVE THE MOST: My long board, Bowling Green, Kentucky.

I WROTE THIS SONG: …holed up in a Florida beach house. The melody and lyrics came at the same time, not always the case. We won’t get over the passage of time and the ever searching heart. It’s ok we still write about it. We must! And we must hear others do the same.
