Videos by American Songwriter
ARTIST: Rebecca Roubion
SONG: “What Love Looks Like”
BIRTHDATE: June 5, 1987
HOMETOWN: Mobile, AL (by way of New Orleans, LA).
CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN
AMBITIONS: to master all accents, to write songs that impact people, tour worldwide, canoe Milford Sounds, open a cheesery called “{w}Holy Cheeses” (each whole, local cheese named after a spiritual guru – examples: “Ghandi Goulda”, “Jesus Jack” “Muhammad Mozerella”, etc etc. I think it’d make a killing.
TURN-OFFS: talking during a good film, cockiness, laziness, mediocrity, someone who disdains cheese or coffee.
TURN-ONS: appreciation of a good film, humility, ambition, dedication, intelligence, anyone who enjoys cheese and coffee.
DREAM GIG: Sydney Opera House / Carnegie Hall. I could die after that.
FAVORITE LYRIC: currently? “Hope was a letter I never could send, well love was a country I couldn’t defend” – Gregory Alan Izakoff (listening to his records as I type this now.)
CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: My best friend Lauren. She’s a riot, a hilarious mess and when we talk, half of the conversation is constant belly laughs.
SONG I WISH I WROTE: Jolene. Dolly Parton’s or Ray LaMontagne’s, for that matter.
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Man, tough one! Tom Hanks, Deb Talon of the Weepies (my favorite band), the Pope, Eva Cassidy, Carole King, my parents and grandparents. So much wisdom!
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Bruce Hornsby – he makes me remember I have no right to touch the piano.
I WROTE THIS SONG: “What Love Looks Like”
