ARTIST: Phoebe Elliot
SONG: Beating Of My Heart
BIRTHDATE: 1/7
HOMETOWN: St. Louis
CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville
AMBITIONS: To write and perform music that moves people.
TURN-OFFS: Fake people, and fake food.
TURN-ONS: Open minds, and pizza.
DREAM GIG: Co-writing with Adam Duritz of Counting Crows, making a record with Paul Worley, and singing a song on stage with Chuck Berry (he still performs monthly at The Duck Room in St. Louis!).
FAVORITE LYRIC: “The smell of hospitals in winter, and the feeling that it’s all a lot of oysters but no pearls. Then all at once you look across a crowded room and see the way that light attaches to a girl.” -A Long December by Counting Crows
CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: Kieran Collins. (Check out her art- she’s incredible, and bat shit crazy… which makes her even more likable.)
SONG I WISH I WROTE: There are so many… At this moment, “All Kinds of Kinds,” “I’d Rather Go Blind,” “Comfortable,” “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright,” and Springsteen’s “Wrecking Ball.” Come to think of it, any Springsteen song.
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Marina Abramovic, T Bone Burnett, Carole King, Tina Fey, and my Dad’s mother if she were still alive- I never met her but her art hangs on my walls and inspires me every day.
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers came through St Louis one summer. I randomly met Ron Blair (the bassist), and he kindly invited me and a friend to the show. We got to stand on stage as Steve Winwood opened, and then Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers performed an incredible show. One of my favorite memories.
