CURRENT LOCATION: Springfield, IL

AMBITIONS: I want to write really good songs!

TURN-OFFS: Know-it-alls, man!

TURN-ONS: Cheeseburgers

DREAM GIG: Right now? Aren’t John Prine and Jason Isbell are getting ready to do some shows soon? I want to open up for one of those! This answer could change on a weekly basis, though.

FAVORITE LYRIC: Every line in Patty Griffin’s “Top of the World”

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: My 3-year-old niece. She’s crazy and cute as can be.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: Let it Be. Duh.

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: This is hard… In no particular order: 1. Paul McCartney, 2. John Prine, 3. T-Bone Burnett, 4. and 5. Joel and Ethan Coen.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: In recent memory… I saw Jason Isbell and Ryan Adams sing Isbell’s “Danko/Manuel” in St. Louis. Great song, great performance.

I WROTE THIS SONG: in about 10 minutes in the bedroom of my old crappy apartment. Not really sure where it came from. I probably wanted out of there.
