FAVORITE LYRIC: “They say I come with less / Than I should rightfully possess / I say the more I buy, the more I’m bought / And the more I’m bought, the less I cost.” – Joe Pug “Hymn 101″
SONG I WISH I WROTE: “Elephant” by Jason Isbell
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Dorothy Parker, John
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Sufjan Stevens’ Adz Tour in Asheville, North Carolina.
I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE…It can become exhausting to explain to friends and family why you love someone or something you shouldn’t love; why you love something that can’t love you back. I wanted to articulate that feeling of: “I know exactly what it’s doing to me, I know exactly how much this will hurt, and I want to hang on to it for just a little while longer.”
