SONG I WISH I WROTE: “Traveling Alone” by Jason Isbell
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Neil Degrasse Tyson, Glen Hansard, Kobe Bryant, Anna Kendrick, and Jon Foreman.
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Ben Howard at Red Rocks amphitheater in Colorado this past October. One of the best nights of my life.
I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE… “Where I’m From” was ultimately written about trying to figure out who I was while on the road and missing home. I was at a place in my career where touring had really started to take a toll on me physically and mentally. I also began to feel like the songs I was performing each night were dishonest to who I was as a songwriter after awhile. It was the first song I wrote for the EP and the most personal to me.
