Some would call him an old soul. Others would just say he’s got good taste. Charlie’s album “Hey Love” is available to purchase here.

ARTIST: Charlie Whitten

SONG: Wedding Song

BIRTHDATE: Feb 3rd 1989

HOMETOWN: Charlotte, NC

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN

AMBITIONS: To make honest music that gets better as I get older

TURN-OFFS: When someone says, “actually” in a matter-of-fact fashion

TURN-ONS: Sour Patch Kids and Chocolate Milk

DREAM GIG: To spend half my time on the road with some of my favorite dudes (and dudettes) playing with me and the other half in a run-down cinder block studio writing and recording

FAVORITE LYRIC: “I was a little too tall, could’ve used a few pounds, tight pants points hardly reknown”

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: JORDAN HULL, a brilliant songwriter, friend and wild man.

SONG I WISH I WROTE: Todd Rundgren “I Saw the Light”

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Gene Wilder, Christopher Guest, Bill Murray, David Crosby, and Katharine Ross

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: I was at a small show in New York and the opening band played to a small and inattentive crowd and they absolutely… killed… it… I was blown away. A lotta integrity. They would have just as soon played to the sound guy with the same intensity if he was the only one there. The artist was named Kelli Scarr, look her up!

I WROTE THIS SONG: To try and convey both the dedication and hesitation that a new marriage sometimes entails.
