Ronnie Milsap’s “Country Cut” Contest Finalist:

ARTIST: Bryan James

SONG: “Man Made”

BIRTHDATE: March 22

BIRTHPLACE: Cheverly, Maryland

AMBITIONS: Striving to one day hear a country legend singing one of my songs on the radio.

TURN-OFFS: Drama.

TURN-ONS: Long slow kisses.

DREAM GIG: I think it would be awesome to be able to make a career out of my passion for music and to be a staff writer for any of the greats.

MY PREFERRED MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: I do drive an old Ford pickup truck… though I would prefer an old ‘vette. Red with a white swoosh please…

TV ADDICTIONS: When I was younger it was M*A*S*H and then it went from there to Cheers, Seinfeld, and now Two and a Half Men… love comedies.

5 THINGS EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN: Every man should own a home, truck, gun, boots, and a roll of duct tape.

THE BOOK THAT CHANGED MY LIFE: Well the obvious is The Bible. I think growing up and learning The Bible in church on Sundays helped to make me who I am today.

I NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT: Truck… otherwise I’d be walkin’.

I WROTE THIS SONG: with two legendary song writers, Royce Porter and Don Goodman. Both have had many number one hits to include artist George Strait, Blake Shelton, Alabama, Keith Whitley, and the list goes on. Anyway… I was driving to Nashville from my home in Brookeville, MD, relishing in all the beauty of the mountains, streams, trees, skyline, etc. that I was seeing along the way, when I began to realize just how awful some of the manmade structures stood out against such an amazing backdrop. Man has destroyed many things and I started to think and relate this to how sometimes man can destroy a woman’s heart. I thought this would be a nice and fresh idea for a new song and presented it my co-writers. Don thought out the hook line, “Man made the heartbreak in her eyes” (which I thought was brilliant) and we wrote and finished the song in a little under an hour.
