Artist: Brit Willson

Song: “Pick Me Up”

Birthdate: April 3, 1993

Hometown: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Current Location: Nashville

Ambitions: To create, to sing, to write, to love people. My biggest ambition is to see country music grow and evolve from what’s on the radio right now.

Turn-offs: poor grammar, fedoras, and black licorice.

Turn-ons: opinionated people, traveling, summertime, and anything with cheese.

Dream gig: Playing the Grand Ole Opry

Favorite Lyric: current one is “Nothing gives easy, easy gives nothing” – “Up We Go” by Lights

Craziest Person I Know: Aubrie Layne hands down. That girl is redneck crazy but also one of the most talented people I know. We’re best friends so she won’t mind me calling her crazy

Song I Wish I Wrote: “On A Roll” by Icona Pop. How is it so catchy??

5 People I’d Most Like To Have Dinner With: Stephen Colbert, Lana Del Ray, Sam Hunt, Mindy Kaling, and Teddy Roosevelt

My Favorite Concert Experience: The Life in Color concert back in September because it’s really just a huge paint party with strangers and Cash Cash and Adventure Club were headlining, who are two of my favorites.

I Wrote This Song: I wrote this song driving home from Texas this summer. I was thinking about how country music is so saturated right now with songs about trucks and talking to girls at bars, so it was fun to write a playful and upbeat response to that.
