ARTIST: The Bama Gamblers

SONG: “Devil’s Daughter

BIRTHDATE: 05/18/1989

HOMETOWN: Decatur, AL – raised in Huntsville, AL

CURRENT LOCATION: Atlanta, GA (VA-HI)

AMBITIONS: To continue writing, recording, and playing shows with my band until I’m too old to carry a bass or a tune.

TURN-OFFS: Bass effects pedals, acoustic guitars, and club owners.

TURN-ONS: Planning ahead, a hard working sound engineer, and women with dark hair and light colored eyes!

DREAM GIG: A sold-out show at The Tabernacle here in Atlanta with The Vegabonds.

FAVORITE LYRIC:   “Some say that love is the poem of life.

Some say that love is the pain of being alive.

Some say there’s nothing on the other side,

Some have traded their souls for just a good time. – Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes.)

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: I could name a few women… but I’ll be nice and say Garret Arbona from Huntsville, AL. I had never been in a car-wreck until I met him and he has almost gotten my ass whipped more times than I can count. He is still one of my oldest friends.

SONG I WISH I WROTE:   Come and Go Blues – Gregg Allman. I feel like I’ve walked in Gregg’s shoes every time I hear that song. It hits home harder than most.

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: My late Pepaw – William Flynn, Jim Morrison, Anna Kendrick (I’d sweep her off her feet), Lowell George, and Bill Clinton (I feel like we would paint the town red.)

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: It’s a tie between two: Seeing the Black Crowes for the first time at The Tabernacle and seeing the excitement on the band members’ faces when the crowd got lit-up during “Under A Mountain.”  It was packed and I don’t think they expected such a good turn-out!

The second: Seeing Gov’t Mule at a small venue in Montgomery, AL. They covered “Lonesome Whistle” by Hank Williams in the style of Little Feat, and I don’t think many people appreciated it as much as I did. Also during the last song the crowd rushed the stage and I was front row center with my elbows basically on Warren’s pedal-board!

I WROTE THIS SONG: I came up with the chorus while I was working a landscaping job in Montgomery, AL after I failed out of school the second time! I was dating a girl at Auburn and my experiences with her are the meat of the song.
