A Durango Boots Sole Performer Top 20 Finalist!
ARTIST: Alina Smith
SONG: “Bad At Being Good”
BIRTHDATE: Aug 25th, 1991
HOMETOWN: Las Vegas, NV
CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN
AMBITIONS: To take over the world with country/dance music (muahaha).
TURN-OFFS: Loud hi hats that aren’t in the pocket.
TURN-ONS: Phat bass sounds, swampy Tellys, oh, and chiseled abs too.
DREAM GIG: Singing a duet with Miranda Lambert, co-writing with Katy Perry, co-producing with Max Martin.
STARTED PLAYING MUSIC: When I was in momma’s belly, you can say I was practicing my kick drum patterns. Went on my first tour, when I was 6 with a kids group, called “Aurora”.
CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: My mom. She shot the music video for “Bad At Being Good”, kept telling me to “shake something” throughout the whole thing!
SONG I WISH I WROTE: Do I have to pick ONE??? There are thousands, from “Hey, good lookin’” to “Radioactive”.
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: When I’m on stage…
I WROTE THIS SONG: There’s a huge double-standard in our society: on one hand, dudes can sing lines like “give you something big enough to tear you’re a** in two” (um, no thanks, T.I.), but when girls are even a little suggestive, they’re labeled “bad”. Well, I say, there’s nothing wrong with women having fun with their youth and sexuality. Go ahead and have that drink and flirt with that cute guy! Just don’t do a Miley, please.
MOST EXCITING THING I’VE EVER DONE: Singing at the opening of the Student Olympics in China. There were millions of people watching live on TV, it was the scariest and most exhilarating thing ever!
