WAYLON JENNINGS: THE ETERNAL OUTLAW – Read The Feature Story

“I feel like this project could very likely break another sound barrier,” says Jessi Colter, Jennings’ widow. “Waylon was so original. For his songs to be sang by other people and to take me somewhere else is not an easy task.”

Colter, along with her son Shooter Jennings and guitarist Reggie Young, have been restlessly working on the three-volume series for the past three and a half years to commemorate not only the musical impact that Jennings made on country music with his songs, but the cultural impact he made as well. Having played a major role in developing the ‘outlaw’ movement that broke the Nashville mold for country music in the 1960s and 1970s, the three have focused on highlighting Jennings’ raw, undeniable, groundbreaking talent by recruiting only the best in town to pay tribute with their unique renditions of his songs.

Digital pre-sales will begin on January 24, 2012.
