“I love this song. But, as agnostic as I am, I always felt that Andy Partridge was playing a trick on us. I mean, why would you write a letter, or a song in this case, to god to tell him you don’t believe in him? For me, the beauty in this song is in how he is grappling with a crisis of faith. And he wins, in my opinion.”
