With Kelly Clarkson taking the stage in front of the Rockefeller Center to kick off the Christmas season, the moment marked the 93rd year of the tree lighting ceremony. Quickly becoming a highlight of the Christmas season, the volunteers and workers moved the massive tree into position. Already towering over the streets, the ceremony featured several hit performances. But when came to Coco Jones, she decided to light up the city with her powerful vocals.

From an early age, Jones knew she wanted to create a career in the entertainment business. And she started that journey by performing on shows like Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing. Due to that competition, Jones went on to appear in films and shows like Let It Shine and Good Luck Charlie. She eventually was cast on the Peacock series Bell-Air. Continuing to expand her career on screen, she also focused on her music, releasing albums like What I Didn’t Tell You in 2022. Recently, she recorded a Christmas EP with Coco By The Fireplace. Featuring songs like “Santa Is Me” and “My Presence Is A Present”, the singer commanded the stage with a performance of “String of Lights.”
Fans appeared to love the performance from Jones as comments read, “May we please give Ms Jones her flowers cause this song is everything.” One comment added, “Coco!!!! Please do a R&B/Soul/Jazz Christmas album with some originals/covers. It would be wonderful to add to your collection as an artist. Your voice is velvet on this!!!”
Coco Jones Juggles Both Acting And Singing
With Jones juggling both a career in Hollywood and a career in music, the Associated Press asked the singer which she preferred. According to Jones, she said, “If we’re talking in general, singing or acting. Yes, singing for sure. It’s not about playing a role. It’s genuinely therapeutic to just peel back all the layers and say the rawest, realest version of your truth. I think that’s the most comfortable second nature. But acting. There are films and shows that just eat the content and the quality. … You get to relive a movie that just holds you tight. That is also really dope.”
Wanting to find the perfect blend between acting and singing, Jones insisted, “I love them for different reasons. I love acting because it’s a challenge, and you kind of get to separate you personally from the job. Sometimes it’s a nice little break. I can’t wait to play a role where I get to be like crazy because I feel like I’m very composed. I’m a little goofy, but I can get crazy. One day I’ll get to do that through acting.”
