CMT’s “Can You Duet 2” Seeks Next Johnny and June

Can You Duet, which last year had the highest rated series premiere in CMT history, will be holding casting calls this March to find the next Johnny Cash and June Carter, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, or Big and Rich for the show’s second season.

Can You Duet, which last year had the highest rated series premiere in CMT history, will be holding casting calls this March to find the next Johnny Cash and June Carter, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, or Big and Rich for the show’s second season.

Created by the producers of American Idol, the show’s talent scouts will hold auditions at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon on March 7th. The series will air this summer.

If you’re looking for motivation, consider the fact that many Season One competitors have already seen their stock rise. Last year’s winners Caitlin and Will landed a deal with Columbia Records, and their debut single “Even Now” hits radio next month. Third place winners Joe and Rory signed to Sugar Hill Records and are now the spokespeople for Overstock.com. Fourth place winners Kate and Kacey (the Coppolas) have signed with Big Machine Records and will tour with Little Big Town.
