This is Stapleton’s seventh Male Vocalist of the Year win. He has taken home the award six times in the last eight years. He won in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022. Luke Combs, who was also up for the award tonight, has been the only artist to break Stapleton’s streak. He took home the trophy in 2019 and 2020.

The “White Horse” singer took the stage and delivered a humble speech full of gratitude. First, he thanked the Country Music Association. Then, he gave the other nominees in the category a little love, saying they all deserved the trophy as much as he did.
“I’m humbled to be here tonight to get to stay in such a wonderful crowd of people,” Stapleton added. “I want to thank my wife, Morgane. I don’t do any of this without her. Certainly don’t get any of these without her,” he continued, lifting his trophy.
After thanking his wife, Stapleton thanked those in his professional life who helped him along the way. “I want to thank everybody I’ve got on my team that worked so hard for us to continue to do these things. I’m so thankful to continue to be part of the country music community,” he said. Then, he added, “I’m really, really grateful that you let me do this and keep on doing this.”
Additionally, Stapleton mentioned a couple of close friends of his who passed away this year. He concluded his speech with, “I miss you guys. Thank you.”
