Although Gwen McCrae recorded “Always On My Mind” in 1972, the song went on to become a pillar in Nelson’s career. With the song having such a rich history, Stapleton took the stage with confidence as he looked to perform the hit song. And while performing a song is one thing – Stapleton proved he could make any song his own.

Chris Stapleton Reveals The Part Of Fame His Wife Doesn’t Like

Gaining nearly five million views, fans loved the cover as they praised Stapleton’s mesmerizing talent. “No offense to any of the artists who Chris has covered and obviously this is a personal opinion. But every time I remember a song and then I hear Chris cover it, it’s like oh yeah that’s what it’s supposed to sound like. He sings to the anthem of the artist and never tries out doing them even though he completely could it’s so respectful and so awesome to watch him sing. Once in a lifetime voice and artist.”

While creating his own legacy in country music, Stapleton once discussed how his wife, Morgane, wasn’t a fan of the fame. “Morgane doesn’t like the attention necessarily, and she does it because I do it. She likes to do it with me because I enjoy doing it. She would be very happy staying home and doing mom stuff, and she likes music and she is very passionate about music, but some of the other things that are the work of music are not her favorite, but she’s invaluable as well, and she knows that as well, and we make sure that she knows that.”

Although Stapleton continues to dominate country music, at home – he revealed, “We all know that she’s the boss in the room, and if it doesn’t pass her, it’s not going to pass. That’s the way it goes.”
