Chris Isaak’s new TV show, The Chris Isaak Hour, will debut on the Biography Channel tonight at 10 p.m eastern. The show features the “Wicked Game” singer chatting with musical guests, who then perform, both on their own and with Isaak accompanying them (perhaps on cowbell).
Trisha Yearwood is the subject of tonight’s episode. Upcoming guests include Stevie Nicks, Glen Campbell, Michael Bublé, Chicago, and Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens).
The most interesting choice of guests, though, would have to be Smashing Pumpkins. It’s anyone’s guess how well Isaak’s smooth country crooning will mesh with Billy Corgan’s acerbic howl, but that’s what makes the show such compelling viewing.
“I’m probably not a natural at this,” a humble Isaak, 52, tells USA Today. “I don’t want to just be asking questions. I wanted to be able to play music. It’s important that (guests) have fun and relax, and they sing.”
