Nashville-based singer-songwriter Caroline Spence just shared a new song, the captivating “Slow Dancer.”
“This song is about the beauty of giving in to love after hesitating for so long,” Spence tells Rolling Stone Country.
After garnering success from her debut LP Somehow, Spence made a name for herself after being noted by Rolling Stone as a new country artist that should be watched.
Her pensive lyrics have already gained her awards, including the coveted Kerrville Folk Festival songwriting contest and American Songwriter magazine’s 2013 lyric contest.
In addition to multiple accolades, Spence has gained the attention of country music talent Miranda Lambert after Lambert publicly praised Spence’s track “Last Call,” adding it to her “On the Road” playlist. This spring, Spence will tour with John Moreland in support of her latest musical endeavor, Spades & Rose, slated to release on March 3.
With the help of producer Neilson Hubbard, Spence recorded the 11-song LP in East Nashville. It includes a cover of “To Go Down” by Pete Lindberg.
