Cara Delevingne Admits She Didn’t Know Who Bruce Springsteen Was When She Met Him

Model and actress Cara Delevingne recently admitted to not knowing who Bruce Springsteen was when she initially met him at Glastonbury in 2022. In an interview with the Sunday Times, she revealed that she was at the festival with her girlfriend, artist Leah Mason AKA Minke, at the time when she bumped into Springsteen backstage.

“Two years ago we were backstage at Glastonbury and we took a photo with this guy,” she said in the interview. “I said to Leah afterwards, ‘who was that?’ She was like, ‘What? That was Bruce Springsteen!’ I had no idea what he looked like. She thinks that’s blasphemy.”

At least she knew he was famous enough to take a picture with, although that could have been Mason’s influence. Delevingne revealed that her girlfriend likes that kind of music more than she does.

“Leah likes old rock, Fleetwood Mac, whereas I like R&B and old-school hip-hop, like the Notorious B.I.G.,” she said. “And I love the wave of lesbians in music now, like Chappell Roan and Reneé Rapp.”

It is a particularly good year to be a gay pop girly, as Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, Billie Eilish, and many others have released spectacular music or given insane performances lately. For instance, Chappell performed at both Coachella and Bonnaroo this year, bringing huge crowds and catapulting her career to new heights. Eilish, meanwhile, released a new album that leaned heavily on her sexuality and identity.

Jeremy Allen White to Portray Bruce Springsteen in New Film About the Making of Nebraska

In other movie-and-tv-star news, Jeremy Allen White of The Bear fame will be portraying Bruce Springsteen in a film about the making of his 1982 album Nebraska. White has recently stated that he wants to create his own process for channeling The Boss, and that he hasn’t met Springsteen yet—although he does know who he is.

On the red carpet premiere of The Bear season 3, White told Variety, “We’ve communicated a little bit through some other people, but I hope this still all comes together,” in reference to Springsteen. “We’ve still got a few things, we’ve got some timing stuff to work out, and I’m trying to have a bit of my own process with it before meeting the man, too.”

He continued, “I wanna try to have an understanding, so when I meet him, I’ll have a bit of confidence somewhere in me to stand there.” White also revealed that he and the team are “gonna try our best” to do have him do his own singing in the film.
