Buried Treasure: Jeff Tweedy And The Autumn Defense Cover John Lennon’s “God”

Videos by American Songwriter

Check out this video from The Autumn Defense’s gig in Charlottesville, Virginia, on December 8, wherein Jeff Tweedy joins his Wilco bandmates John Stirrat and Pat Sansone for a set-closing cover of John Lennon’s “God” (thanks to Twentyfourbit for the heads up.) The song was recorded on the 30th anniversary of John Lennon’s death. The best part: Tweedy substituting the line “Wilco and me” for “Yoko and me.” Genius.
