Buffalo Springfield Reunion Tour Looks Likely

The Buffalo Springfield reunion tour looks like it will actually happen, Rolling Stone reports. Since their break up in 1968, the band has been unable to successfully come together. That is until they reunited at last year’s Bridge School Benefit in Mountain View, California. Bandmates Neil Young, Stephen Stills, and Richie Furay may have rekindled a spark during the benefit show, as it’s spurred a discussion on a future tour.

“I know they’re going to go out for at least some dates in the fall,” CSNY’s David Crosby tells Rolling Stone. “Personally, I’d like to go watch. They’re one of my favorite bands.” (Adds Furay’s manager, David Spero, “There certainly are discussions to that effect.”)

Crosby even had the idea of possibly getting his old group, The Byrds, to join them on the bill. Unfortunately, this idea idea is implausible, in part because of Byrds’ member Roger McGuinn’s resistance. “It’s pretty obvious that [Buffalo Springfield and The Byrds] would be a great show,” Crosby says. “You can’t have everything, though. People in hell want ice water.”

Seeing The Byrds alongside Buffalo Springfield may be out of the question, but could new Buffalo Springfield material be on the horizon? Crosby is skeptical of any real progress in that direction, but adds, “then again, Neil Young could write five songs in a week.” Obviously, this notion is not too far out of the question.
