On May 3, Columbia will release a single DVD/Blu-ray version of Bruce Springsteen’s award-winning The Promise: The Making Of Darkness On The Edge OF Town, which was originally included in the Darkness deluxe box set.

The stand-alone edition will come with “Songs From The Promise,” a five-song concert filmed before 60 fans in Asbury Park, New jersey’s carousel house, where the band was backed by a full horn section. That show features the only live E Street Band performances to date of four songs from The Promise, and the ultra-rare “Blue Christmas.” The DVD/Blu-ray will also include the 22-minute long “A Conversation With His Fans,” in which Springsteen answers questions about The Promise and the writing and recording of Darkness On The Edge Of Town.
