Shania Twain made history with her third album, 1997’s Come On Over. The album played with genres, straddling the line between pop and country. Twain co-wrote the entire album with producer and then-husband Robert “Mutt” Lange, including the standout single “You’re Still the One.” The couple aimed the lyrics squarely at their critics: I’m glad we didn’t listen / Look at what we would be missin.’ Although Twain and Lange did eventually split, “You’re Still The One” is etched in wedding playlist history. One bride from Yorkshire, England recently went viral after she surprised her husband-to-be with a cover of the song on their wedding day.

“The Way He Didn’t Take His Eyes Off You”: TikTok Reacts to Bride’s Shania Twain Cover
As the congregation rose to its feet in anticipation of Sophie Jennings’ walk down the aisle, the words to one of Shania Twain’s most heartfelt songs filled the church. But it wasn’t Shania Twain singing the words to her 1998 hit “You’re Still the One.” It was the bride.
Jennings walked down the aisle toward her new husband, perfectly hitting every note: Looks like we made it / Look how far we’ve come, my baby / We mighta took the long way / We knew we’d get there someday.
The couple joined hands when Jennings reached the end of the aisle. Her husband grinned from ear-to-ear as she finished her tribute.
Jennings posted a clip of the moment to her TikTok on July 22. It quickly went viral. “The way he didn’t take his eyes off you,” wrote one TikTok user.
“Had tears in my eyes watching this and goosebumps truly beautiful,” another TikTok user commented. “What a lucky couple to have something so special xx.”
Shania Welcomes 81-Year-Old Superfan Onstage
Ken Northall, of Lytham St. Annes, England, has been traveling the world to see Shania Twain perform for the last 25 years. However, the 81-year-old superfan needed only a short bus ride to meet her. Impressed with his fandom, the “Come On Over” hitmaker called Northall onstage during her July 4 performance at Lytham Festival 2024.
Twain even dedicated her performance of “That Don’t Impress Me Much” to her biggest fan, swapping out “Brad Pitt” for “Ken.”
