Panic! At the Disco played their final show over the weekend, at the AO Arena in Manchester, England. Frontman Brendon Urie, who has been with the outfit since they started back in the early ’00s, seemed to be emotional about the end of this era.

“I’m overcome with gratitude,” he wrote alongside pictures of the final show. “I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. For the last 18 years, it’s truly been an experience that I’ll always be grateful for. So if you’ve been with us for 18 years, thank you very much. And if you’ve just joined us, welcome and….farewell. Either way, I love you very much, and I just can’t say thank you enough. Let’s live every day like it’s our last, babyyyyy!”
Urie announced in January that the band would be calling it quits nearly 20 years into their tenure.
“Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me,” Urie said at the time. “So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way.”
Prior to announcing their break-up though, the band saw a number of line-up changes. That uncertainty paired with the fact that Urie and his wife, Sarah, are about to welcome their first child, put things into perspective for the singer.
“Sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin,” he continued. “That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.”
Their final show saw the group play more than two dozen songs, including the entirety of the latest LP Viva Las Vengeance, and long-time fan favorites like “Nine in the Afternoon” and “I Write Sins Not Tragedies.”
Panic! At the Disco was formed in 2004 in the Las Vegas suburbs when Urie met guitarist/songwriter Ryan Ross and drummer Spencer Smith. By 2016, punctuated by the release of Death of a Bachelor, Panic! was essentially Urie’s solo project after a number of line-up changes. Urie released Viva Las Vengeance in August 2022, marking his final project under the Panic! moniker.
