Breeders Channel Bob Marley On New EP

On April April 21st, the Breeders will return with a new four-song EP, the follow-up to last year’s Mountain Battles.  Dubbed Fate to Fatal, the EP features ex-Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan, who appears on the track “Last Time.” It also finds the Deal Sisters tackling Bob Marley’s chill-out masterpiece “Chances Are.”

Kim Deal explained the songs’ appeal to Rolling Stone: “This was in the ’60s, when all the guys in Jamaica wanted to get laid they would do doo-wop,” she says. “It’s not reggae, I’m not doing a reggae song.”

The Breeders are curating this year’s All Tommorow’s Parties festival in England in mid-May, where they’ve booked Gang of Four, Deerhunter, X, and Teenage Fanclub.
