Brad Paisley Debuts New Song “Truck Still Works” at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards

Brad Paisley wasn’t nominated for an award at tonight’s (September 25) People’s Choice Country Awards. However, that didn’t stop the award-winning country singer from taking the Grand Ole Opry House stage to show the crowd and everyone watching at home why he’s been one of the biggest names in the genre for more than 20 years. His live performance of “Mud on the Tires” and “Truck Still Works” was all the proof anyone needed.

Paisley kicked off his performance with “Mud on the Tires” and followed it with his new single “Truck Still Works” which drops at midnight. The pair of songs don’t just tread the same thematic ground. It seems that “Truck Still Works” is a sequel to the classic hit. The girl from “Mud on the Tires” comes back to town and wants to relive the night they had in the short-bed Chevy all those years ago.

Paisley has a storied history in the country music world. To date, he has sold more than 11 million albums and taken home a trophy case full of awards. His accolades include 14 CMA Awards, 14 ACM Awards, three Grammys, and a Billboard chart record. He launched ten consecutive singles to the top of the publication’s Country Airplay chart, more than any other artist.

Earlier this month, Paisley released Song Still Sings, a compilation of some of his biggest hits and best-known songs. The collection includes classics like “Waitin’ on a Woman,” “Letter to Me,” “I’m Still a Guy,” and “I’m Gonna Miss Her” among others. Tomorrow (September 27), he’ll release “Truck Still Works” as the next single from his forthcoming project Son of the Mountains.

Brad Paisley Preps for First Album Since 2017

Brad Paisley’s last full-length album, Love and War, dropped in 2017. He plans to release his next album, Son of the Mountains sometime this year. He teased the release almost a year ago today with Son of the Mountains: The First Four Tracks. Since then, he has been relatively quiet. He appeared on “Goes Without Saying” on Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion earlier this year. Tomorrow, he’ll release “Truck Still Works” as the fifth sample from the forthcoming project.

Son of the Mountains will mark a significant shift in Paisley’s career. He released his first 12 albums through his longtime label Arista Nashville. Last year, he announced his departure from the label before inking a new deal with EMI Nashville. His forthcoming album will be the first on the new label.
