The verdict may still be out on the artistic merits of Will.i.am, but Bob Dylan was vetted a long time ago.
So when the Black Eyed Pea frontman and the World’s Most Popular Folk Singer came together (in spirit, if not in person) to do a Pepsi Commercial, the world stood up and took notice.
The commercial blends vintage footage of Dylan and a menagerie of pop culture references (Gumby, Shrek, John Belushi, Jack Black) with footage of Will.i.am., set to the rapper’s remixed version of the Dylan classic “Forever Young.”
Was it a cool drink of water, or the aural equivalent of high fructose corn syrup?
You decide.
