Beck Teams With Third Man Records For “I Just Started Hating Some People Today”

Videos by American Songwriter

The coolest record label in the world just got a little bit cooler. On May 28, Third Man Records, the Nashville-based label run by Jack White, will release Beck’s latest single, “I Just Started Hating Some People Today,” backed with the B-Side “Blue Randy.”

A press release states that Beck recorded the single last year while he was in Nashville working on a new studio album (perhaps it’ll sound like the Hank Williams-inspired Sea Change, given the location.) The songs “spontaneously came together at the Third Man studio on Beck’s final day in Nashville.”

Collectors and super-fans, take note: an “extremely limited run” of 100 Tri Color 7-inches will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 2nd at Randy’s Records  (we see what you did there) in Salt Lake City, Utah. An “even scarcer scattering” of 50 Tri Colors will be “randomly inserted in mail orders for the single placed with Third Man.” There will be no pre-sale.

This is not the first time Jack White and Beck have teamed up. Check out the audio evidence below.
