Formed in the 1990s, the Backstreet Boys eventually made their way into the studio and released their debut album in 1996. That album brought the band a great deal of success as the group went on to sell over 130 million. Winning numerous awards and touring the world, the Backstreet Boys continue to expand their career. Back in 2022, the boy band joined forces to release the album A Very Backstreet Christmas. And keeping with that theme, the Backstreet Boys took the stage in New York for the 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

Throughout the evening, millions of people tuned in to watch the tree-lighting ceremony as Kelly Clarkson hosted the event. But besides getting the chance to hear Clarkson sing, the Backstreet Boys proved they still know how to work a crowd. Embracing the Christmas spirit, the band took the stage as freezing temperatures filled the streets. But not letting the cold weather remotely diminish the Christmas spirit, the band decided to perform a holiday classic.
Looking at social media, the Backstreet Boys received a mountain of love and support from fans as comments included, “It’s crazy how Nick still has that signature voice- has the same impact now that it did when they were on top of the world.” Another person added, “The Backstreet Boys have put sunshine in my heart since I was 8 years old. I will never stop loving & supporting them, bc they never stop loving & supporting each other.”

The Backstreet Boys Barely Contain Their Excitement For Christmas
Even before the Backstreet Boys performed, Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson showed just how pumped they were to be part of the festivities. Sharing a video of them on Instagram, the boy band mimicked a scene from the hit Christmas film Elf to show just how much Christmas spirit they had to share.
As the post gained thousands of likes in just a few minutes since it was uploaded, even the Rockefeller Center commented, writing, “Counting down the seconds.” With Christmas in full swing, there was no better way to kick off the holiday than watching New York light up thanks to the 2024 Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
