Lisa Konicki
Editor in Chief
Lisa Konicki has spent 20+ years in media publishing, beginning her career at Country Weekly Magazine as Asst. Photo Editor and working her way up to Editor in Chief. Prior to her start in the country music industry, she was (and still is) a passionate fan of pop music —Madonna, Mariah Carey, Bon Jovi, Prince and many others. It wasn’t until her father (whose music she rebelled against because no one wants to listen to their parents music) forced her to ONLY listen to country music on their drive from New York to Florida, that she became a fan of ‘90s country artists like Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, Trisha Yearwood, Garth Brooks, Reba and many others. That change became the catalyst that helped put her on her current career path. Today, she finds herself at the helm of the genre agnostic publication, American Songwriter, enabling her to branch out and explore many other genres of music, which she greatly enjoys. When she’s not working (FYI, publishing is a 24/7 job), you can find Lisa in the great outdoors, mostly when the weather is warm. She loves hiking, kayaking, boating, lazy days on the lake, and has a newfound interest in both disc golf and pickleball. Sports are high on Lisa’s list of things to do and watch. Always one for a pick up game, she excels (Ok, maybe in her younger days) at Volleyball, Softball and Tennis. Being from New York, she is a die-hard New York Jets fan (save the condolences), and likes the Steelers, Yankees, Islanders and Predators.
