Girls just want to have fun, and so do Grammy-winning Canadian indie rockers, apparently.
Arcade Fire aren’t known for their levity, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have an ’80s fetish. At their performance at this weekend’s JazzFest in New Orleans, the band invited ’80s icon Cyndi Lauper onstage to perform her biggest hit, “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” as well as a duet with Régine Chassagne on The Suburbs’ “Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains).” Come to think of it, Chassange always seems to want to have fun on stage.
