In September, Nashville-by-way-of-New-Jersey singer-songwriter Darrin Bradbury released his LP Elmwood Park: A Slightly Melodic Audiobook. “To me the record is less of an album and more of a collection of short stories,” Bradbury said of the work at the time. “Most of them are either true to me or true to someone I know. Recommended for those who suffer from non-resolvable existential issues and have the unfortunate predisposition to being overly sentimental when confronted with references to mid-century American pop culture.”

During AmericanaFest, Bradbury stopped by the American Songwriter office to play a few tunes, including album standout “True Love,” which compares the experience of the “real thing” to the ups and downs of meth addiction. Watch Bradbury and fiddle player Megan Palmer perform the song below.
