Last year, Nashville singer-songwriter Jamie Kent was crowned the 2016 Durango Boots Sole Performer, and we have an exclusive premiere of his new album All American Mutt, out Friday on Road Dog Records.

The 10-track effort sees Kent moving through various country and Americana sounds, with lyrical topics ranging from a tequila loving woman on “Sheila” (which features harmonica by Huey Lewis) to the meshing of cultures in America on the title track.
“I spend 100+ days a year playing shows around our country, and get to experience all of the ups and downs that make up America, and that make (it) great,” Kent tells American Songwriter. “We’re a big melting pot of people, cultures, and ideas; sometimes they clash, and sometimes they fit together perfectly. All American Mutt is a collection of songs and observations from those experiences on the road, and comes together with an honest and hopeful outlook on what it means to be American.”
The album was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Dave Brainard and track at Nashville studios Sound Emporium and Grand Victor Sound.
You can listen to the project here, with copies available to purchase at Kent’s official site.
