Alanis Morissette transported concertgoers back to the 1990s during a surprise appearance at P!nk‘s Summer Carnival Tour stop in Los Angeles. The hit singer/songwriter joined the fellow pop-rock innovator on stage Thursday night (October 5) for a punchy rendition of Morrissette’s trademark hit “You Oughta Know.”

The song became a Top 10 hit for Morissette in 1995 yet feels as fresh and powerful as ever during the pair’s playful collaboration. A portion of the two hitmaker’s electrifying performance inside the colorfully-lit SoFi Stadium, captured by KTLA5, can be seen below.

“You Oughta Know” is a track from Morrissette’s critically acclaimed third album, Jagged Little Pill. A jukebox musical based on the record debuted in 2018 and is currently touring across the U.S. and Canada.

Last year, Morrissette released her tenth record, The Storm Before the Calm, which offers an ambient soundscape crafted for relaxation and meditation. Tomorrow (October 7), the 49-year-old singer/songwriter is set to make her first of two live appearances at the 2023 Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Texas.

Morissette’s unannounced arrival was one of many standout moments from P!nk’s Thursday night concert, which lasted five hours, according to Yahoo! News. Pat Benatar, the rock legend and opening act for select dates of the Summer Carnival Tour, also joined P!nk on stage during her extensive headlining set. The pair treated fans to a powerhouse rendition of Benatar’s iconic 1979 hit “Heartbreaker.”

P!nk’s 2023 Summer Carnival Tour will continue through the end of November, stopping at cities across the U.S. and Canada. After a break for the holiday season, she’ll hit the road again for a leg of shows in Australia this March.
