Adam Levine initially found success as the frontman of Maroon 5. However, many now recognize him as a coach on The Voice. Levine won the NBC show’s first-ever season back in 2011 alongside artist Javier Colon. From there, he quickly became a fan favorite, best known for his “frenemy” dynamic with fellow coach Blake Shelton. The “One More Night” singer left the show in 2019 after 16 seasons and eight years. Now—much to fans’ delight—Levine has begun filming his season 27 return to the big red chair.

Adam Levine Returns to ‘The Voice’
Viewers got their first look at The Voice’s season 27 coaching lineup when Adam Levine shared a photo to social media Friday (July 19.)
The Maroon 5 frontman posted a picture of himself on set with fellow coaches Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, and John Legend. Season 27 is slated to begin airing in the spring of 2025.
“First week of taping Season 27 of @nbcthevoice with these three is done, love them, it’s great to be back!” Levine wrote in the caption.
Bublé will make his debut on The Voice during season 26, which airs Sept. 23. Joining him are returning coaches Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani, along with newcomer Snoop Dogg.
Legend will sit out season 26 after nine seasons as a coach, returning in 2025. Country star Kelsea Ballerini is season 27’s lone newcomer.
Fans expressed their enthusiasm for Levine’s return in the comments. “He’s baaaaaccckkkkk,” wrote Los Angeles makeup artist Nikki DeRoest.
“Let’s gooo,” another fan chimed in, followed by three flame emojis.
Will This Fan Favorite Also Return To ‘The Voice?’
Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are The Voice’s indisputable OGs. They appeared as coaches together on the show’s debut season, remaining mainstays until Levine’s departure in 2019. Season 24 marked the first-ever season without Shelton, as the “Ol’ Red” singer exited in May 2023.
Now Levine is returning—and Life & Style reports that the “Moves Like Jagger” singer may have something brewing. “Adam would love it if Blake Shelton came back,” a source told the outlet. “He knows that their bromance would make headlines again and boost ratings.”
Shelton has been very clear that he doesn’t miss The Voice at all. However, if anyone could wrangle him for a reunion, it’s Adam Levine.
