Adam Levine Is Returning to ‘The Voice’ but Another Star Is Adamant They Won’t

Given the recent release and buzz around the film, Wicked, Ariana Grande has been on a media tear. All of her media appearances have mainly pertained to her role as Gilda in the Broadway adaptation. However, she recently went a bit off-script to talk about her time on The Voice.

Despite Grande’s reluctance towards returning to The Voice, there is one mega superstar not so reluctant. As the former judge of The Voice, Adam Levine announced that he would return to the judge’s chair last June. Levine left The Voice in 2019 and is set to make his grand return in 2025 on season 27.

Grande opened up about her experience on The Voice in a recent episode of Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang’s podcast,  Las Culturistas. Grande has no ill feelings toward the show or its structure and the the reason for her departure has nothing to do with any systemic issues. Instead, Grande left the show for a simple reason—Her devout and deep connection with the show’s contestants.

Ariana Grande Has Too Much Love and Not Enough Time for a Return to ‘The Voice’

Regarding her departure from the show, Grande stated, “I love everyone so much” and “I love meeting people, and I felt so invested. And I still do, like I see them all on Instagram.” In connection to the later statement, Grande has tried to remain in touch with season 21 contestants, Bella DeNapoli, David Vogel, and Raquel Trinidad. However, life has been a bit busy for Grande and she has not been able to keep in touch with them as much as she would like.

She added, “But I love them and I’m in touch with them on Instagram” and “I like their posts, I see their things, I see what they’re up to.” Despite her separation from the show, Grande is still “very involved” with her season’s contestants, and seemingly that is her issue and why she will never return to the show.

Grande opened up about her problem saying, “I got so emotionally attached to everyone” and “That’s my problem.” In short, it seems Grande simply had too much love and not enough time with all of the contestants. The Voice just simply is not the right type of show for someone with as much love as Ariana Grande.

Despite Grande vowing to not return to The Voice, she has fond memories of the show. She called her judging appearance “A perk” and “Really fun.” Ariana Grande’s short stint with The Voice transpired in 2021 for the show’s 21st season.
