Ron Sexsmith To Release First Self-Produced Album, Announces Tour Dates

Videos by American Songwriter

Three-time Juno award winner Ron Sexsmith is at it again with the upcoming release of his newest work The Last Rider, out April 21 via Compass Records.

This is Sexsmith’s 13th studio album and the first to be backed by his touring band. The Last Rider is also Sexsmith’s first attempt at producing his own work, and he did so alongside drummer Don Kerr. Together they produced the 15-track album at The Bathhouse, The Tragically Hip’s studio in Kingston, Ontario.

In comparison to his last record Carousel One, Sexsmith notes The Last Rider as feeling “a lot more free.”
