Ringo Starr took part in a special London listening event and Q&A on Tuesday, December 10, to promote his upcoming country album, Look Up, which was attended by a jaw-dropping list of other famous rockers. According to various social media posts, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, and The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood were among the luminaries at the event, which took place at the Third Man Records store in London.

As part of the intimate event, the ex-Beatles drummer was interviewed by BBC presenter and former Squeeze keyboardist Jools Holland. Look Up producer T Bone Burnett also participated in the Q&A via a video feed. Other celebrities in attendance included Bob Geldof, Melanie C of the Spice Girls, and Beatles producer Giles Martin.
Starr posted a video montage from the gathering on his Instagram page. The clip was accompanied by a note that reads, “Wow, what a great time I had in London hanging out with all friends promoting my new country album Look Up peace and love Ringo.”
Third Man Records, meanwhile, posted a series of photos from the evening on its Instagram, along with the following message: “Last night [Third Man London] threw a bash for [Ringo Starr] and his nearest and dearest, in celebration of his incredible upcoming album Look Up. It featured a Q+A with the album’s producer [T Bone Burnett], hosted by [Jools Holland], and great vibes from legends such as [Ronnie Wood], [David Gilmour], [Melanie C], [Jimmy Page], [Eric Clapton] and Bob Geldof. … Huge thanks to all who came down! Peace and Love.”

Wood and Holland also took to their socials to share photos and post comments about the event.
The Rolling Stones guitarist, who was sitting in the front row with his wife during the Q&A portion of the event, wrote, “Fantastic night catching up with old friends celebrating [Ringo Starr’s] new album! Brilliant to see everyone! … Congratulations Ringo!”

Holland’s post included a photo of him with Wood, Page, and Clapton, and a pic of Ronnie asking a question during the Q&A. Jools’ note read, “Lovely to have a Q&A with [Ringo Starr] and some incredible music legends at the launch of his new country record Look Up which is coming out on 10th January 2025.”
More About Look Up
As previously reported, Look Up is a collection of 11 country tunes that features Starr collaborating with Burnett. Nine of the 11 songs were written or co-written by Burnett, who also produced the album. Ringo and his longtime studio engineer, Bruce Sugar, co-wrote one song, “Thankful,” a duet with acclaimed country/bluegrass artist Alison Krauss.
Besides Krauss, Look Up features several other guest artists, including Billy Strings, Molly Tuttle, Lucius, and Larkin Poe. Starr’s brother-in-law, Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh, also contributed to the album.
Look Up is the first full-length album Starr has recorded since his 2019 studio effort What’s My Name. It can be pre-ordered now.
Starr’s Upcoming Performance Plans
Ringo will celebrate Look Up’s release with two special Nashville concerts, on January 14 and 15, at the Ryman Auditorium. Starr will be joined at the shows by Burnett and various guest musicians.
The concerts will feature performances of country-style versions of Beatles tunes and his solo hits, as well songs from Look Up.
